Happy New Year 2010...
Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11:42PM For the past 10 years, we have spent New Year's Eve with our dear friends from Scotland. New to this country back when Audra was in preschool, we first invited them to go to Zoo Lights with us on New Year's Eve, so many years ago. We'd push our little ones in their strollers and enjoy spending an evening outdoors, all bundled up before welcoming in the New Year. This became an annual tradition and we've enjoyed doing something special with them every year since. One year we went to the movies and several years we've spent the weekend together at the cabin. This year, because of the severe winter weather, the Fleming family could not make it up to the cabin for our annual get together. (We are postponing our celebration until next week, when we are back home in the valley.)
So, the kids made the most of being snowed-in today without their friends and turned our driveway into a winter playground. Here's a look at some of their snowy fun, the last of 2010. After the snow, it was warm showers for everyone, comfy jammies, more chili, hot chocolate and lots of games. We've enjoyed these past days, just the six of us, spending some fun, much needed down-time as a family. Too soon, we'll be back to school, back to work and back to our hectic routines, but today we are grateful for the memories we are making just enjoying the simple things as we welcome in 2011.
To our dear friends and family, have a safe and blessed new year. We love you!
