What Faith Can Do...

This blog entry is dedicated to dear friends, whom I've been praying for over the course of many years. Theirs is a story about following God's call despite everything the world is telling them to do and not to do.

Blessed with three amazing and beautiful boys of their own, they felt God calling them to adopt a little girl who needed a family. There have been many road blocks and disappointments during their five year journey - there have been doubts, fears and shouts from the world, why would you adopt when you have the perfect family? Still, they press on.

Their attempts to adopt locally have proven fruitless, but they remain steadfast in following God's call. Very soon now, they will be traveling to Ukraine, on the next leg of their journey, with more speed bumps yet in front of them as the little girl they have fallen in love with there is close to being adopted by another family. Still, they press on with the eyes, the heart, the hands and feet of Jesus, stepping out onto the water in faith.

Go, my friends, in peace. Be of good courage, holding fast that which is good. Render to no one evil for evil, strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, help the afflicted, honor all people. Love and serve the Lord, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.

When the world tells you that you can't, it (faith) tells you that you can.....that's what faith can do!

Thank you, S. I'm not sure where the road leads now. Time will tell. Very disappointing but I have not lost faith. A little sore with the Lord, but I still love Him and I know He loves us.

I'm sorry about your disappointment, but I don't believe the Lord led you astray. I imagine you've got so many emotions going right now and God understands your heart. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I believe He honors your desire to offer a home to an orphan. Pray and continue to listen....I'm praying for you still.
