Short But Sweet

These two conversations with our sweet, and very literal, Sierra have just been bringing smiles to my face today as they replay in my mind. Hope they make you chuckle, too.

We were driving in the rain and I was looking out my window at the car driving beside me. I said out loud, but kind of to myself, "An all electric car."

Sierra gasped and exclaimed, "Oh no, that's dangerous...you never want to mix electricity with water!"

We recently made a hospital visit to see a friend who was in a horrible car accident and is in the process of several very serious surgeries on her left hand and arm. We stopped in to see her just after her first surgery and she looked wonderful - we were relieved to see her looking so good. As we chatted with her family, they explained that she would be having several more surgeries in the next few days and she would be moved to ICU following her next surgery and she would be there until all surgeries were completed.

After we left, Sierra and I were talking about the hospital and I explained how the Intensive Care Unit works. Her eyes grew to the size of dinner plates as she realized it wasn't actually the "I See You" area of the hospital, as she thought. She said she's always thought it had the name because they needed "extra eyes" on people who were there.  I told her she had the right idea and I loved her logic.

I keep smiling at the sweet innocence of children...funny!
